“Commit your actions to the LORD, and your plans will succeed.” ~ Proverbs 16:3 (New Living Translation)
When it comes to plans we have them, but how many times do we actually fulfill them? Is it possible that something is Gods will in your life that you desire, but your desire for sure confirmation has hindered your starting process? What if your confirmation is a godly conviction and supernatural faith to believe it’s only possible through Jesus Christ’s power and Gods Holy Spirit? (Zechariah 4:6) In life we have choices and the truth is we make a lot of wrong choices, but God doesn’t hold them against us because He sees us learning from them and growing in wisdom to make the right choices next time. No failure has ever been a failure when you allow God to direct you, teach you and guide you into the proper perspective so when decisions come around again you can do not the right thing, but the GODLY thing.
The Lord Jesus has a plan for all of our lives. He said in Jeremiah 29:11 that He actually thinks of us. Consider that for moment, God is thinking about you. All your life God has thought about you. It’s interesting to note that when Adam was given his job in naming all of the animals the Bible says something very beautiful “He brought them to the man to see what he would call them” (Genesis 2:19). God actually wonders what you will do and how you will do it. It’s important to know that God is looking at your plans, your desires, your goals, dreams and visions in your life, but it is more important for us to involve Him in the process.
The Bible tells us to commit (give, surrender, acknowledge) our actions (plans, desires, hopes and dreams) to The LORD and your plans will succeed. Proverbs 16:3 says our plans when we involve Jesus through prayer and His Word will succeed. The Bible also says when we abide in God and follow His Word and His desires He would our godly desires to prosper (Psalm 1). God has a plan for your success, but in order to fulfill that plan He has to be involved. You have to bring careful consideration to your plans, your schooling, your career choices, your relationship choices, your marriage, etc. etc. to God so you can have His way of success in your life.
The world has various definitions, ideas and concepts of success. I’ve thought in the past that cars, money, a wife, pretty girls, prominence and fame was the ideal definition of “success,” but now that I’ve learned more about God I see success is simply growing in my knowledge of Jesus, being more like Him and fulfilling His will, plan and purpose for my life. God has a purpose for your life. All purposes require action. In order to fulfill your dreams and godly aspirations you must first make a decision, second you ask God about it, asking Him to somehow show you and guide you on how to involve Him in the middle of the process, praying things like “Lord, if I get the interview how can I best reflect myself as a godly person who desires to do the best I can do?” God tells us in Colossians 3:23 “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.” The Father will give you a direct answer and your light will shine and doors will open. When we commit and give ourselves and our plans to God not only will He solidify them in our hearts but He will begin to provide the hope, gifts, resources and hidden talents you have yet to see in order to bring it to pass.
What do you desire to do for God? Is it something that will benefit you or those other than yourself for more than yourself and for the glory of God? If so it’s probably a godly desire. God desires success in things that promote the Gospel, educate and bring Christians closer to God and bring you into His purpose for your life. Don’t get it twisted success isn’t a dress code, a language, a habit, a car, a new hair cut so you stand out or anything tangible; it starts in prayer and communion with Jesus.
Consider today your plans and commit (give, show, pray, wait) them to Jesus Christ so you can have good success in whatever you do for Gods glory and His Church/people.
Father, Lord, I come to You today asking You to solidify godly desires in my heart and remove the ungodly ones. Lord, I yield my plans to You as You remind me of them and as I have possibly started to write some down. Father, I ask that You bless these plans and dreams I have and may You give me the right motive to do the best I can for the best Person in the world, Your Son Jesus Christ. Lord, let salvation of souls come from anything and everything I do and may I always commit my works to You so Your glory can be revealed in and through me to the world around me changing it for the Gospels sake and to uplift Jesus Christ. I ask this for Your Kingdom in Jesus Name. AMEN!
